The Faculty of Arts at the University of Kufa has had examination of a Master’s Thesis entitled: “Education and Intellectual Movement in the Holy City of Karbala (1968-1979) by the student (Nabil Jawad Attia). The study aimed to investigate the educational reality of the holy city of Karbala for the period (1968-1979) and the historical development of the official schools in the city from kindergartens, primary, secondary and vocational schools, as well as private education in them, indicating that they were similar to public schools in their form, content and development, but they It maintains the Islamic orientation at the same time, adding that the study dealt with the press, printing presses, and libraries and their impact on the intellectual movement in the holy city of Karbala, as well as the councils, associations, and writers in the city, especially the Hussaini mourning councils, which stood up to deviant ideas, confronted them intellectually, and explained the defects in them, indicating The associations, cultural clubs and literary councils in the holy city of Karbala are of great importance in promoting the Karbala society through holding seminars, conferences and giving lectures on religious and other occasions, as well as issuing pamphlets, magazines and newspapers to achieve lofty goals of development in the scientific and cultural fields.
