Professor from Faculty of Arts Supervises Ph.D. Study on Solid Waste Pollution of Soil

The Professor at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Kufa, Prof. Dr. Safaa AlMudhaffar, has supervised a doctoral thesis entitled: (Spatial analysis of soil pollution by solid waste in the Nasiriyah district center) by the student Aseel Ali Ahmed. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which is that the spatial distribution of solid waste varies from place to place and according to the nature of the factors influencing it, and that natural and human characteristics have a clear role in soil contamination with solid waste. To another, as it was found that pollutants increase in places affected by solid waste, which showed high concentrations of heavy elements that exceeded the limits allowed globally, and also increased the number of pathogenic bacteria and fungi in household waste very significantly, and the study ended with a set of proposed solutions that we see as necessary. Adoption of it because it will limit this problem and reduce its presence and dangers to society.
