The study aimed to detect the pollutants of the Kufa Shatt water, and the study relied on collecting and analyzing 12 samples of the Shatt water for the summer season and others for the winter season, from different locations from the beginning of the Kufa Shatt to its end. The study concluded that human activity and its various wastes, especially civil (household) and agricultural wastes, are the main cause of pollution of this water, as the drains of the agricultural areas are directly connected to the waters of the Shatt al-Kufa without treatment, and the waters of the heavy water station also flow into the Shatt stream, which It is characterized by its low efficiency, which also contributes to the pollution of this water.
