Panel discussion in the Department of Geography on “Field Work in Geomorphological Studies”

     The Department of Geography at the College of Arts at the University of Kufa held a panel discussion by Professor Dr. (Ayed Jassim Al-Zamili), entitled (The importance of field work in geomorphological studies).
In this workshop, Al-Zamili reviewed the field work, “because it is an important means for eliciting information and data in the field scene. Through it, the researcher learns about the types of phenomena and landforms and their measurement in the field.” Adding that “there are many requirements required for the researcher before starting the field work, including: making sure that the subject of the study has not been studied previously, and identifying the weather elements, especially for those who worked in the plateau, as well as identifying the roads leading to the study area, and fixing the areas to be visited, whether to take Samples, or to get acquainted with landforms.The researcher must also have studied maps such as (topography, geology, soil, land uses) of the study area well, and there are some materials needed for field study, and there are materials necessary for transportation and camping.
