     The Department of Geography at the College of Arts at the University of Kufa held a panel discussion for Professor Dr. Kamel Hamza Fleifel, entitled (Topographic Maps and their Importance in Geographical Applications).
Fleifel indicated that topographic maps of various sizes are of great importance in geographical studies. As it is considered an official geographical reference to infer from it for various geographical phenomena, whether natural or human, the geographer cannot go out to the field or field study unless he has his tools and requirements of topographic maps, especially geomorphological studies, soil, water resources and other studies; that searches in uninhabited areas and lacks data from official departments or state institutions; In this case, the total reliance is on topographic maps, which document field work and give it scientific sobriety, free from quotation.
Prof. Dr. Kamel Hamzah emphasized topographical maps, the larger they are, the more accurate details about a place with its names and geographical phenomena appear. Which dispenses the researcher with research and questioning in the written sources, and facilitates the derivation of the study area with ease and ease.
