Faculty of Arts studies (the effect of climate change on the change of season of growth of field crops)

The Faculty of Arts – Department of Geography at the University of Kufa discussed the doctoral dissertation entitled (The impact of climate change on changing the growing season of field crops in Iraq) by the student Fadel Abdul Abbas Muhair..
The study (with distinction) aims to analyze the extent of the impact of climate changes on the characteristics of the climate of Iraq, and analyze the amount of climate change according to specific climate cycles by using the simple linear trend coefficient, the amount of annual change and the amount of change during the study period.
In this, he relied on the data of the selected stations for the period (1966-2020), as well as determining the impact of climate change on determining and changing the growth season of field crops in Iraq, which are (wheat, barley, rice, yellow corn, sorghum, and cotton).
The study reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which are: the variation in the impact of climate change on the characteristics and elements of the climate of Iraq, the study proved the change of the growing season for field crops in Iraq and for all studied stations.
