College of Arts discusses “contemporary Maghreb contributions to the study and criticism of Orientalism”

The College of Arts – Department of History at the University of Kufa discussed the master thesis entitled (Contemporary Maghreb Contributions to the Study and Criticism of Orientalism (An Analytical Study)) by the student Anmar Hamid Idham, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Sajida Abd Kazem Hamadi Al-Hassani.
The study aims to review contemporary Moroccan contributions to the criticism and study of Orientalism, which reflects the recognition of the importance of these contributions and the efforts of Moroccan thinkers and researchers in developing the critical and analytical methods used in studying and criticizing Orientalism, and how Moroccan thinkers interact with Orientalist theses on the scientific or ideological level, by identifying the foundations and the methodological dimensions followed by Moroccan thinkers in their reading and analysis of Orientalist theses, and an explanation of the features and characteristics that distinguish this criticism.
A descriptive and analytical methodology was adopted in this study. The descriptive methodology focuses on presenting contemporary Moroccan contributions to the criticism of Orientalism and placing them in their appropriate context, while the analytical methodology focuses on drawing the conclusions and judgments reached by Moroccan researchers in their criticism of Orientalist thought.
